TARDIS Storage Cabinet Video |
TARDIS Video Cabinet You may have heard of the TARDIS video cabinet that cost nearly £90 back in 1996. It was made of cardboard, high grade cardboard but still flimsy at best. I commissioned a good friend and an expert carpenter to make me a high quality replica of the TARDIS out of wood. Unlike the real TARDIS, this replica has a hidden compartment that is undetectable unless you know it is there. It can store nearly 75 VHS movies, and is deep enough to handle new DVD cases on the first three levels. The fourth level has about 1 inch less depth. The doors swing out and grasp shut with a magnetic catch. The wording on the front is true to the real TARDIS. The condition of this handcrafted piece of furniture is good. There are slight dents that are nearly undetectable unless under close inspection. One stick on letter ‘A’ is slightly coming off. The top piece joints are beginning to separate. But actually the piece looks great and would be a MUST have for any serious collector. You should note the weight of this item is a little on the hefty side so the shipping will be something to consider. I weighed it on a bathroom scale and it came to 37 pounds. This is only an approximate weight since my bathroom scale is not an official shipper’s scale. To be fair on the cost of shipping I will only charge for the actual cost that I spend of packaging materials and shipping. If you are lucky enough to live near Reno NV or want to take a vacation here, you can pick up this piece. |
